Podiatry Legends Podcast

Are you a Podiatrist looking for business, professional and personal inspiration? Do you sometimes feel your workday is stuck on repeat? The Podiatry Legends Podcast is going to change the way you see, feel and think about the podiatry profession.

This podcast is the place where Podiatrists, from all parts of the world, will share their expert tips, and sometimes unusual stories and careers paths, with the goal of exposing you to all the vast opportunities that currently exist within our profession.

May 12, 2022

Zoe Lewis is the owner of Podiatry Medic in Queenstown, New Zealand. She is originally from the UK, spent several years in Spain, did her podiatry training in Australia, and followed an unexpected path to New Zealand.

She now runs her own business and is a surgical assistant with a local Orthopaedic Surgeon.

In this episode, we discuss:

  • Waiting for the right opportunities.
  • Persistence and resilience.
  • Finding what you love to do in podiatry and focusing on that.
  • Cut & Run patients.
  • Setting up her own business.

"To not use your knowledge is a little bit insulting to our profession".

  • Becoming overwhelmed and overworked, it's an easy trap to fall into.
  • Being disciplined at work and not burning yourself out. You need to learn to go hard and then rest.
  • Why podiatry is pandemic proof.

"You don't have to commit full-time to podiatry, part-time is okay and you can work aoround your kids and your family".
